MANTA
ISLA DE LA PLATA
Isla de la Plata
Isla de Plata (Silver Island) is sometimes jokingly called “Poor Man’s Galapagos” because of it’s beautiful animals and birds that are very similar to what you can see in the Galapagos, but without the big price tag. The island is surrounded by beautiful snorkeling areas and every year from June through September the coast of Ecuador around Isla de Plata and Manta becomes one of the best locations to go whale watching. Humpbacks migrate to the area from all over the world for their annual mating season, and the coast of Ecuador is the place to be to see them up close. We can organize an exciting weekend tour of Isla de Plata that also includes a trip to and unique archeological site and natural sulfur baths of Agua Blanca and Los Frailes beach, voted one of the most beautiful beaches in South America.
